Exciting Egypt
Hey! Can I cover you in salt and put you in a pyramid for a billion years? Well why not? That’s how the ancient Egyptians buried their rulers and other important people. I will be talking to you about the geography, the amazing pharaohs, and the daily life in ancient Egypt. Come with me while we explore the ancient civilization of Egypt. The geography of Egypt was dry and hot. Ancient Egypt was in Africa by the NileRiver and the Mediterranean Sea. Egypt has two parts upper and Lower Egypt. In Lower Egypt they had crops, the NileRiver which flooded yearly, and the delta which provided silt and fertile soil. In Upper Egypt they had the NileRiver, mountains, deserts, and cataracts. The climate was very hot and dry. There resources were the NileRiver and the Mediterranean Sea. In Egypt they had pharaohs. In Egypt they had a monarchy. A monarchy is a kingdom ruled by a king or queen. The most important pharaohs were Menes, Tut, and Hatshepsut. Their religion was monotheism. Monotheism was the belief in more than one god. They thought that the pharaohs were walking gods. When they died they were mummified and stored in a pyramid. They even got their brains taken out through their nose. That’s gross I am glad I don’t live there the daily life in Egypt was hard. Those who lived by the Nile got to farm. They used irrigation the water there crops. Once every year the NileRiver flooded. The people went to the desert while there land was flooded. Some boys and a few girls got to go to school to learn how to write. When they grew up they might have got to write for the king. The Egyptians were very smart. They knew a lot of stuff. They had a social pyramid the kings were on top, the other important people were under him, then the farmers and finally the slaves. I would be on top because I am awesome! Ancient Egypt went through many tough times they had wars and battles. They had many different pharaohs. We have found many different things from there. Some of the most important things that we found were the pyramids and king Tuts tomb. Egypt was a great civilization. One thing I don’t want to see any of you trying to find the hidden tombs of the pharaohs.
